Rene Jacobs did a wonderful job with this employment. The orchestration with the recorders and strings utterly sparkles. Having listened to some Poppea's, this would be my first selection if purchasing this opera. I thought the secondary roles were intimately performed. The singing is beautiful, specially Jennifer Larmore.
